Town Police report the bridge reopened at 8:42 a.m.

Southampton Town Police report that the Ponquogue Bridge is closed at Foster Avenue and northbound from Dune Road due to a fallen wire. They made the notification at approximately 8 a.m.

Also closed, according to Town Highway Superintendent Charles McArdle, is South Country Road in Remsenburg. As of 7:30 a.m., a road crew was there dispatching a fallen tree.

High winds have meant wires and trees down and electrical outages across Long Island this morning. The National Weather Service issued a wind warning, predicting winds of 25 to 40 mph, with gusts up to 60 mph for Friday morning, February 18.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor.
