Preserving History

This past Saturday, Sag Harbor’s Historical Museum had its annual fundraiser on the lawn of the historic Custom House. A more iconic setting cannot be found in the village, with the Whaling Museum to the south, and the French House to the north. As a museum focused on Sag Harbor’s history, it is our goal to “preserve and cultivate our history,” and we shared the results of several of our recent projects and exhibits at the event, which by all accounts was greatly appreciated by those in attendance.

Thank you to all of those who came to support the museum; it does take a village to support our efforts. Thank you also to those who worked so diligently to plan and organize the event, most especially Committee Chair Cathleen Civale.

What’s next? Mark your calendars, please, for our upcoming Sunday-on-the-Porch at 174 Main Street, July 27 at 4 p.m. Come hear the long and colorful story of our local newspaper, The Sag Harbor Express, presented by Publishers Kathryn and Gavin Menu and Bryan Boyhan. It should be a fun afternoon. We hope to see you then!
