Proud To Support

If you’ve ever been in a car behind Kimberly Allan, you’d better have time on your hands. She keeps to the speed limit, takes constituents’ calls (hands free!) to help with their issues, and might step out of her car at a stop light to speak with a driver she’s witnessed careening down Main Street, first to welcome them to the village and then to ask the driver to please slow down!

I’ve been watching Kimberly follow the rules and advocate for the wellness and safety of our neighbors for many years — in ways small and large, always impactful — and I am very proud to support her candidacy for trustee on a ticket with Zach Epley.

She may not be the best at grabbing headlines, but, quietly and persistently, Kimberly Allan gets great things done for the Village of Southampton. In addition to spearheading the gas-powered leaf blower summer restriction rules, she’s helped preserve open space, adopt tougher septic laws, install catch basins and rain gardens, ban the releases of helium balloons, constituted an ethics committee, resolutioned the addition of cell antenna at Coopers Beach to improve safety, and commenced the Business Revitalization Committee. She also reconstituted the Village’s Senior Committee, launching a monthly Senior Fun Lunch Club, Cabin Fever SHV History museum series, and more.

Also, without fanfare, Kimberly finds ways to give back — collecting clothes and housewares for a family left homeless after a fire, or manning pretty much every church and community bazaar.

I feel fortunate to have Kimberly Allan as a trustee today, and support her in this role as long as she is able to serve.
