Ralph Ficorelli Sr. Of Sag Harbor Dies April 5

Ralph J. Ficorelli Sr. of Sag Harbor died at Southampton Hospital on April 5. He was 81.

Born on May 19, 1933, Mr. Ficorelli was a lifelong resident of Sag Harbor. He attended St. Andrew’s Catholic School and Pierson High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having been stationed in Alaska from 1954 to 1956, and had been commander of the Sag Harbor American Legion. He owned and operated Suburban Sanitation with business partner Jack McLaughlin.

Mr. Ficorelli is survived by his wife of 61 year, Lois; four children, Joanne Stratton and husband Dean, Claudia Prieston and husband Jason, Ralph Ficorelli Jr. and Jennifer Glass and husband Dan, all of Sag Harbor; three grandchildren, Neil, Matt and Emily; one great-grandchild, Troy; and 12 nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two sisters, Christine Ambrose and husband Joseph of Sag Harbor, and Maryann McLaughlin and husband Jack of Florida. He was predeceased by his parents, Pietro and Cesira Ficorelli; and a sister, Francis Kelly and husband Jim.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor. A funeral Mass was held on April 10 at St. Andrew’s Church; burial followed at the church cemetery.
