Raymond K. Coffey of Orangeburg died October 23, 2016, surrounded by his family and friends. He was 53.

Mr. Coffey, known to many as “Uncle RayRay,” was born and raised in Southampton. He joined the Southampton Ambulance Corps at age 17, the beginning of many years of an altruistic life. He served in the United States Army as a combat medic, and was a dedicated member of The Nam Knights of America MC Hudson Valley Chapter and a 4th Degree member of St Dominic’s Council, Knights of Columbus. A career paramedic and educator, he dedicated his time as a volunteer in his community.

Mr. Coffey is survived by a sister, Margaret Coffey and husband Donald Hermance; a brother, Michael; his children; Nicholas and wife Ashley, Nathaniel and Brennan; and his wife, Stacey Damon and her children, Jaclyn and Gianna Pagliocca. He also leaves behind his dog, Wednesday.

Visiting was October 28 at the Assumma-Shankey Funeral Home in Pearl River. A funeral Mass took place on October 29 at St. Aedan’s Church in Pearl River.

QUOGUE — Quogue Village Police arrested Steven Failla, 48, of Quogue on May 3 at 12:14 a.m. at Jessup Avenue and charged him with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. The officers were responding to a physical dispute at a residence on Jessup Avenue. Officers on scene performed an investigation and subsequently arrested Failla, as the victim of the assault sustained a physical injury to a hand, police said. Gintaras Satas, 58, of Mastic was arrested at about 11:30 p.m. on May 2 and charged with misdemeanor DWI and several vehicle and traffic violations after the vehicle he was driving nearly struck a Southampton Town Police car that was on the side of Montauk Highway in Water Mill with its lights on conducting a traffic stop of another vehicle.
