In the upcoming election on November 2, we are fortunate to have Tom Neely, a new candidate for Southampton Town highway superintendent. Tom will be the most experienced candidate we have ever had for highway superintendent. He has been working on transportation issues on the South Fork for 34 years, 16 of them as Southampton Town transportation and traffic safety director.
Now, more than ever, we need experienced leadership with new ideas in the Highway Department. Tom Neely is a leader who works well with other town leaders and elected officials to jointly address our issues with traffic, pedestrian and biking access, and safety.
Some residents believe the roads in their area have been neglected and need improvement. Tom Neely is ready and knowledgeable to take on these issues, work with the community and solve these problems together. He is a consensus builder who enjoys working closely with residents and other town officials to address our transportation issues.
Vote for Tom Neely for highway superintendent on November 2, or in early voting at the Stony Brook University campus at 70 Tuckahoe Road, from Saturday, October 23, to Sunday, October 31. (Hours vary each day; check with Board of Elections.)
