Several programs offered by the Southampton Youth Bureau, including an advanced chess club and basketball clinics, are now accepting registrations.
The Advanced Chess Club with Coach Ulysses Tapley will meet on Tuesdays through June 17, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road. The program is open to students in kindergarten through grade eight and costs $60 for the series.
Basketball clinics with Coach Rodney Rollins will run every Friday, January 17, through May 16 (except February 21, March 14, and April 18), from 5 to 7 p.m. at Southampton Youth Services, 1370A Majors Path. The program is open to students in grades seven through 12 and costs $50 for the 15 sessions.
Also on the Youth Bureau calendar is a Dinner and Movie Night Fundraiser to help pay for a trip for members to Albany. The fundraiser will be held on Saturday, January 18, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Flanders Community Center. “Ratatouille” will be screened and a spaghetti dinner served. The cost is $15 per person or $25 for a family of four. Dinner reservations must be submitted by Wednesday, January 15, with cash payments being accepted at the door. Arts & craft activities will be available for younger children in attendance.
