Relatable Animus

I had to struggle not to vomit as I watched the former head of the FBI, James Comey, virtue-signal the self-righteous victimhood he sought after his indictment for perjuring himself. He stood defiant and innocent of any responsibility for undermining the credibility of the FBI or his treasonous efforts to entrap newly elected President Donald Trump.

Facts currently exposed by the current administration as the statute of limitations grew near reveal the effort by the intelligence community and the FBI to subvert the results of the election.

Mr. Comey was indicted for contradictory testimony he delivered before Senators Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham, professing that he had nothing to do with the leaking of false information to the national media about an involvement of Trump with Russia — but FBI subordinate Andrew McGabe had stated he was authorized directly by Comey to do so.

He also was indicted for seeking a FISA warrant based on information he knew was false, which led to wiretapping innocent Americans working for the Trump campaign.

Spare us, Saint Comey — you are about to be confronted with your duplicity. The role of John Brennan and James Clapper, I trust, will not be ignored. The hate Mr. Trump has for these individuals because they sought to ruin him politically and personally is understandable.

Mr. Trump is no shrinking violet and, as a man, I relate to the animus he richly feels for those who have sought his destruction. His determination to prosecute these people is not undeserved. Democrats who want to paint this as an authoritarian overreach, a step toward tyranny, will still be whining when Mr. Trump leaves office at the end of his term in compliance with our Constitution, but not before this entrenched, un-American rot has been rooted out.

A word about Charlie Kirk: He was a generational figure, and his assassination is no less tragic than MLK and the Kennedys were for the country. That someone as irrelevant as Jimmy Kimmel distracted us from this loss angers me.

The mourning and grief on the right speaks volumes, unblemished by the violence so prevalent from the self-indulgent left. Who from that quarter has shown the grace that Charlie had? Certainly not Jimmy Kimmel, the new poster boy of free speech.

Shamefully, indisputable evidence has emerged that Democrats in the Biden administration commanded Google to suspend YouTube content on the internet in conflict with their government COVID directives, which, without hesitation, they did. So much for Democrats’ credibility as defenders of our speech.

Post script: Jimmy Kimmel’s ratings were boosted by viewers like myself, who will likely turn out to be one-night stands.
