Richard Joseph Donohue of Hampton Bays Dies March 8

Richard Joseph Donohue of Raleigh, North Carolina, and formerly of Hampton Bays, died peacefully on March 8. He was 59.

He lived most of his life in Hampton Bays, having recently relocated to Raleigh.

He is the son of the late Michael and June (Sprague) Donohue.

He dedicated his career as an electrician in the Local 3 IBEW, working for ADCO for many years. He will be remembered for his hard work, love of life, his infectious smile, and the laughter he brought to those around him.

He loved trips to Las Vegas, his Sunday football games, and spending time at family gatherings. He leaves behind many years of happy memories of love and laughter, his family said.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; his former wife Diana McQuoid and their three children, Richard, Jennifer, and Sean; his siblings, Michael (MaryJane), Jessica (Doug), June (Kevin) and Maureen (Richard); nine nieces and nephews; 12 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many loyal friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, from 2- 4 and 7- 9 p.m. at Scott Rothwell Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 15, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Rosalie’s Church in Hampton Bays, followed by interment at Good Ground Cemetery.
