Richard Page Gillette of Southampton and West Palm Beach, Florida, died January 30, 2017, while visiting family in South Carolina. He was 88.
Mr. Gillette grew up in New York City and graduated from The Taft School and, in 1950, Yale University. He managed the syndicate department at Merrill Lynch until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed buying, building and selling homes and traveling extensively with his wife, Marion, who predeceased him in 2016.
He is survived by his children, Richard Cochran Gillette of Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Paige Gillette Louthan of Southampton; five grandchildren, Kate, Cory, Oliver, Margot and Vivian; and three great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Duncan and Evelyn. He was predeceased by a son, William Gillette.
The funeral is private.
