Richard Pellicane

Richard Pellicane of Southampton and formerly of Queens died Saturday, June 18. He was 79.

Mr. Pellicane’s parents emigrated to the U.S. from Sicily around 1905. Known as “Dick,” he was born and raised in Queens, and was the youngest of five children.

He served in the U.S. Marine Corps after graduating from Adelphi College. Subsequently, he attended Columbia Law School, graduating in 1958. Mr. Pellicane went on to have a long and fulfilling career as an attorney.

He was a passionate person who read voraciously and loved to write; he enjoyed the beaches of Southampton and the gardens at his home. He had a great sense of humor, loyalty and a generosity that touched many. We will all miss him, family said.

He is survived by his partner, Ilse Wolff; his sister, Mary Pellicane; four children, Mary, Joe, and Kate Pellicane, and Lora and her husband Vincent Grillo; and three grandchildren, Gina and Lauren Grillo, and Conner Davis.

Services were private and under the direction of Brockett Funeral Home in Southampton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to East End Hospice, P.O. Box 1048, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978, or the charity of your choice.
