Rick Doyle of Bridgehampton died on March 2, after a long illness. He was just two weeks shy of his 68th birthday.
Mr. Doyle was born and raised in Flushing, the son of Raymond and Marguerite Doyle, both Irish American parents who were contributing teachers in New York City. The family summered in Southampton Shores, where, at age 15, he met the love of his life, Gloria-Lina. They eventually married.
Mr. Doyle attended St. John’s University and earned a degree in economics before spending the next 20 years working on the trading floors of American Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange. During his many years as a successful trader, he was also a devoted husband, provider, and father who traveled endless hours on trains, to and from work, every day, so that his family could have a much better life, survivors said.
Among the lifetime of lessons imparted by Mr. Doyle was to remember the good, forget the bad, and always cherish each moment with family. Mr. Doyle was always a fan of the underdog, survivors said.
Mr. Doyle is survived by a son, Richard “Roo” Doyle Jr.; and a daughter, Tara “Schoochie” Malone; and four grandchildren, Sadie,Georgia, Cooper, and John Jet.
