Rita L. LeCann of Southampton died on August 25. She was 95.

Born to Ferdinand and Leone DeJolimont Garnier in Quogue, she was the wife of Herve LeCann, who predeceased her in 1976.

Ms. LeCann worked for New York Telephone Company as a long distance and overseas operator. She sang in the New York Telephone Choir and loved to sew and crochet.

Ms. LeCann is survived by her two sons, Albert LeCann of Amsterdam and formerly of Southampton, and Marcel LeCann of Riverhead. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Paul LeCann and Marcelaina LeCann.

Visitation was held on August 28 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral mass was held at Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Roman Catholic Church in Southampton on August 29; interment followed at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton.

A simple fact about the SALT deductions is being obscured with Nick Lakota’s statements in the news. If the 2017 tax rules expire, residents will once again be able to deduct 100 percent of their state and local taxes. If all New York representatives vote together, the new budget will fail. “Fighting” for a higher limit is unnecessary. Volunteer Ambulance HQ To Be Dedicated During Open House

The Southampton Volunteer Ambulance will hold an open house and dedication ceremony for its new headquarters on Sunday, May 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The building is located at 1256 North Sea Road in Southampton.
