Rita R. Stascavage, formerly of Port Washington, and most recently of Brookfield, Connecticut, died on February 9, surrounded by her family. She was 84.
Ms. Stascavage assisted her father, Irving Simonson, in establishing G&I Motors, later East Hampton Chrysler Plymouth, in Midhampton, New York in 1945. In her profession as a bookkeeper, she also worked at Eastern Analytical Services in Elmsford with her sons Paul and Kevin for more than 20 years.
Ms. Stascavage was predeceased by her husband, Edmund L. Stascavage. She is survived by three children, Joanne Graziano and husband Charles, Paul Stascavage, and Kevin Stascavage and wife Joanne; grandchildren, Bryan, Kristin, Kevin, Kathryn, Christopher, Brendan, Blake, Summer, Connor and Kayla; siblings, Viola Garcia, Diana Brennan, Cathy Winding and Barbara Wilson. She was predeceased by a son, Stephen Stascavage; and siblings, George Simonson and Mary Collum
The Rita R. Scholarship has been established at Long Island University, Post Campus, to which memorial donations may be made, liu.edu/donate.
Visitation was held on February 12 at the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton. A funeral Mass was held on February 13 at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church in Bridgehampton; interment followed at Sacred Hearts Cemetery in Southampton.
