Riverhead Man Stabbed In Flanders, Police Searching For Assailant

Southampton Town Police are searching for an individual who stabbed a 32-year-old Riverhead man early Sunday morning outside his sister’s home on Oak Avenue in Flanders.

“Southampton Town Detectives were called to investigate the incident and the information gathered so far is that the victim was visiting his sister in Flanders and upon leaving the residence was attacked by an unknown assailant and stabbed,” police said in a release.

The victim was transported to Peconic Medical Center to treat a single stab wound to his abdomen after Flanders Ambulance responded to the scene.

Southampton Town detectives are actively investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to contact the Southampton Town Detective Division at 631-702-2230. All tips will remain confidential, police said.
