Robert Carl Anderson died at his home in Quogue on February 13, surrounded by his family. He was 66.
Known as “Bob,” he was born July 8, 1949, in Greenport and grew up in Riverhead. He founded and operated Electromedia Systems, serving most of eastern Long Island’s radio stations during his career. He most recently worked for WPPB in Southampton and WEHM in Amagansett. Survivors said that throughout his life, his love and talent in jazz music gave joy to those who knew him. He enjoyed spending summers on the bays of the North Fork.
Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife, Beth Hagen Anderson, who he married in 1978; a son, Ryan of Quogue; and sisters, Judith Anderson Loddengaard of Hampton Bays and Maryjane Anderson Wurth of Chicago.
The family received friends on February 17 at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 18, at noon at the Mission Church of St. Rosalie’s on Main Street in East Quogue. Burial of ashes will be at a later date.
