Robert G. Nielsen, Formerly Of Riverhead, Dies June 21

Robert G. Nielsen

Robert “Bob” G. Nielsen of Boyertown, Pennsylvania, formerly of Riverhead, died at Pottstown Memorial Medical Center on Friday, June 21. He was 73.

Mr. Nielsen was born in Manhattan to the late George and Catherine (Daly) Nielsen. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War era. He worked for UNISYS in New York for 35 years before retiring. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and loved to fish and hunt.

Mr. Nielsen is survived by his wife of 26 years, Andrea (née Born); two sons, Daniel and wife Amanda of Mastic, and Robert and wife Eileen of Hampton Bays; a daughter, JoAnne Williams and husband Christopher of Hampton Bays; two sisters, Ann Nielsen of Broad Channel, Queens, and Patricia Derubio of Rocky Point; and four grandchildren, Matthew and Lauren Nielsen and Ivy and Sam Williams. Also surviving are five stepchildren, Karin Burker, Kristin Kenreich, Katherine Dunn, Karolin Brechbill and Joseph Kenreich; five step-granddaughters and a step-grandson.

Funeral and interment will be private under the direction of the Catagnus Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania.
