Robert Hunter Halstead of Remsenburg and Chatham, New Jersey, died on February 9, 2018. He was 93.
Born in Brooklyn to Kenneth and Marjory Halstead, he graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology in the Class of 1946, and served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean War. He worked as a mechanical engineer and executive at Worthington Corporation and its successor businesses, and since 1938 was the proud owner of SS 119, the yellow sloop sailing from the Westhampton Yacht Squadron. He was also a member of the Quantuck Beach Club.
Widowed after 65 years of marriage to Lois G. Halstead, he is survived by three children, Robert H. Halstead Jr. of Massachusetts, Whitfield G. Halstead of California, and Deborah Halstead of New Jersey; and grandchildren, Richard G. Halstead, Michelle M. Halstead, and Thomas W. Halstead.
Church services will be conducted at the family cemetery plot in Warwick.
