Robert Merrihew Sr. Dies At Age 74

Robert Merrihew Sr.

Robert E. Merrihew Sr. of Hampton Bays died at home on April 6. He was 74.

Mr. Merrihew was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1955 until 1958. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a truck driver for Northville Industries in Riverhead.

He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge in Riverhead. Mr. Merrihew and his family were very active in the Oasis Christian Center in Patchogue.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Johanna Elizabeth (nee Wojewoda) Merrihew; five children, Robert E. Merrihew Jr. of East Quogue, Robin Boucher and her husband Michael of Hampton Bays, John Merrihew and his wife Tammy of Georgia, James Merrihew of Medford, and Gerald Merrihew of Queens; and four grandchildren, Marley and Avery Merrihew, and Machaela and Jordyn Boucher. He is also survived by a sister, Sandy Bilinski of Virginia; and two nieces, Jackie and Katherine.

Visiting hours were held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home on Monday, April 9. Pastor John Curcio of the Oasis Christian Center officiated the service at the funeral home on Tuesday morning. Interment followed in Calverton National Cemetery.
