Robert S. Miller Of Hampton Bays Dies May 19

Robert S. Miller of Hampton Bays died at Southampton Hospital on May 19, 2017. He was 78.

Mr. Miller was a veteran of the U.S. Army, an avid skier, tennis player and gardener. Survivors said he influenced many young lives coaching Little League for 18 years, volunteering with the Long Island Youth Mentoring services and through his church. He was a carpenter by trade and loved his work and had a great sense of humor and a way of telling stories.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Debra; a daughter, Cheryl Mahon; two stepchildren, Christy Rutkowski and Garrett Grzybowski; and grandchildren, Emily, Zachary and Alek. He was predeceased by a son, Rob.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the O’Connell Funeral Home in Southampton.

Memorial donations may be made to Long Island Youth Mentoring Services or the North Shore Christian Church Community Outreach.
