Rosalie A. Allen of Hampton Bays died at her home on October 13. She was 81.
Ms. Allen was the owner of Allen’s Acres on Foster Avenue from 1963 until 1982. Prior to moving to Hampton Bays, she was the head bookkeeper at Glenn Motors in Springfield Gardens. After she moved to Hampton Bays, she was the manager of Garsten Motors in Riverhead. She was also a former officer of the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce.
Ms. Allen is survived by two sons, Randolph S. Allen and wife Cathy of Hampton Bays, and Richard Allen Esq. and wife Beth of Connecticut; and two grandchildren, Brandon and Caitlin. She is also survived by four cousins, Thelma Allen, Annamae Penner and Joan Bennett, all of Hampton Bays, and Irene Kobesian of Lynbrook. She was predeceased by a brother, William Shaw.
Visiting hours were scheduled to be held at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays on Tuesday, October 15, with a parish prayer service by clergy of the Church of St. Rosalie, also in Hampton Bays. A funeral Mass was scheduled to be said at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rosalie’s on October 16, with interment to follow at Good Ground Cemetery in Hampton Bays.
