Ruth Cox Hunley, sister of Helen Carr of Southampton, died on March 1 at Home Place Hospice in Tyler, Texas. She was 79.
Born July 21, 1929, in West Warwick, Rhode Island, Mrs. Hunley was a 55-year resident of Tyler. A Baptist, she worked as an administrator for Richard and Joseph’s Beauty School and was a volunteer at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Hunley; two sons and their wives, Paul and Laura Trotter and Tim and Kay Trotter, all of Texas; a brother, Arthur Trainer of Rhode Island; two sisters, Helen Carr of Southampton and Bea Tourgee of Rhode Island; and three grandchildren, Allen, Kelly and Lyric Matthew Trotter.
The family received friends on March 3 at the Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home in Tyler, where funeral services were held on March 4, with Dr. Dan Cozart officiating. Interment followed in the Cathedral at Pines Cemetery.
