Ruth Zebroski Of Hampton Bays Dies August 20

Ruth (Nicholson) Zebroski of Hampton Bays died on August 20.

Born in Hampton Bays in 1921, she was a lifelong resident of Eastern Long Island and was deeply involved in her community, and was proud of her heritage, her home and its history. She was employed in a number of service industries in the area. Survivors said she will be remembered for her love of animals, and her large “pig” collection.

Mrs. Zebroski is survived by a son, Charles and wife Elizabeth of Pennsylvania; a son-in-law, Dana Armstrong of California; granddaughters, Kristen Zebroski of Connecticut and Jennifer (Zebroski) Enke of Alfred Station. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, John; a daughter, Diane “Twink” (Zebroski) Armstrong; and siblings, Jenny (Nicholson) Goodale, Jim Nicholson and Raymond Nicholson.

A memorial service took place on August 24 at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays; the Reverend Kent Terchunian of Hampton Bays United Methodist Church officiated. Burial of ashes was at Calverton National Cemetery.
