Sally and Dave Hawke Celebrate 50 Years of Marriage

Sally and David Hawke celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on September 9.

The couple met while attending Wesley College in Dover, Delaware, in 1969. Sally, nee Mongerson, was from Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. David grew up in Southampton, graduating from Southampton High School.

After graduation, the couple settled in the area and rented for about 10 years before building on Blank Lane in Water Mill, which was a dirt road at the time. They now live in Shinnecock Hills.

They have two daughters, Kristen Edson and Karla Brantuk, and seven grandchildren.

David is the owner of Strong Oil, which includes two Shell gas stations, one in Water Mill and the other in Hampton Bays.

Santa Coming to Westhampton Beach

The Village of Westhampton Beach will host its annual Christmas Tree and Menorah Lighting Celebration on the Village Green on Saturday, December 6, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. At 6 p.m., the Westhampton Beach Fire Department will escort Santa to the Green, joining decorated fire trucks from neighboring departments in a festive parade of lights down Main Street.
