Sandy L. Fabricatore died in his sleep on December 17, 2018. He was 88 and had Alzheimer’s disease.
Mr. Fabricatore grew up in Riverhead, before moving with his family to Bethpage where, as a bus driver, he met the love of his life, Marilyn Scheuler, and they married in 1953, and had six children
He was well known for his prize-winning homing pigeons, a hobby he pursued for more than 75 years. He founded and owned Campus Heroes in Selden, and many other delicatessens on Long Island. He also owned Sandy’s Quarterhorse Ranch in Manorville.
His wife predeceased him in 2013.
His ashes will be interred this spring during a graveside service. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Werner Rothwell Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach.
