With all that is going on in our little village, I was dismayed to read of a plan by Trustee Aidan Corish and the Dawgpatch Bandits to “revitalize” the Cilli Farm [“Stewardship Plan Pitched For Sag Harbor’s Cilli Farm Preserve,” 27east.com, April 14]!
The farmland was purchased to be kept as it is — a little bit of what Sag Harbor used to look like. I believe there are enough parks in the village! Yes, it should have the junk that was dumped on the Long Island Avenue part of the preserve removed, but “nature trails” and signs were not part of the plan to save the site.
The quote from the article — “We’d be giving the people the park that was bought for them basically 20 years ago” — is just wrong. It was purchased as a preserve!
It is also not “just deer and ticks and trash”!
I hope the people of this village can once again join together to save the Cilli Farm land!
Thanks for the chance to voice my feelings.
