Peer Educators from Hampton Bays High School recently visited Hampton Bays Middle School to speak to students about being an upstander, not a bystander, when someone is being bullied. The high schoolers explained the difference between the two and shared ways that they could safely intervene or otherwise help a student who is being targeted by others. Created in conjunction with the Suffolk County Department of Health Services, the Peer Educators program trains high school students to create and conduct presentations for other students on important topics such as bullying, making good behavioral choices and other character education topics.
