As part of a multidisciplinary project, fifth and sixth grade Southampton Intermediate School Summer Academy students worked collaboratively to research renewable energy and build and present “green cities” that showcased what they had learned. Their cities included electric cars, rooftop gardens, and wind, hydro and solar power, as well as green spaces, from walkways to bike paths. Their project was inspired by a reading of “Green City” by Allan Drummond, which discusses a town that was hit by a

Jacqueline Galan Lucero from East Hampton recently graduated from the New York Institute of Technology. Galan Lucero completed the Architecture, BARCH program.

Luke Haley and Alison Schneider, both Southampton High School graduates, have been accepted to the ARCH Scholars Program, a distinguished learning community within the Honors College at the College of Charleston. The two-year cohort experience connects high-performing scholars with the resources they need to thrive at the College of Charleston.
