Hampton Bays Students Inducted Into Math, Science Honor Societies

Hampton Bays High School recently inducted 17 students into its Science Honor Society and 45 into its new Math Honor Society during a candlelighting ceremony.

To earn membership to the Science Honor Society, students were required to maintain an unweighted GPA of 91.5 or better, earn an unweighted average of 90 or higher in a science course, score an 85 or higher on three science Regents exams and be enrolled in an Advanced Placement or upper-level science course. To earn entrance into the Math Honor Society, students must have completed all New York State math Regents classes, hold a 90 or higher GPA in those classes and maintain an overall 90 GPA.

The inductees in the Science Honor Society are, seniors, Raquel Castillo Morocho, William Hurtle, Trey Scudder, Santiago Solorzano Angel and Matthew Zheng; and juniors, Samuel Blackburn, Jaime DePalma, John DePalma, Joshua Garnica, Andrew Guevara, Antoino Haddock, Cristian Kearns, Nathan Kearns, Sebastian Martinez, Willem-Dakota Sarkis, Louis Stellato and Jose Vallejo.

Inducted in the Math Honor Society are, seniors, William Barletta, Sumeja Bytyqi, Raquel Castillo, Matthew Cruz, Vasyl Eoin Datsyuk, Jacqueline Flores, William Hurtle, Eman Khalid, Lillyann Maffia, James Maroulas, Sarah Mendel, Taylor Meyers, Michael Nunns, Isabella Palma, Connie Penafiel, Nataly Pineda, Brian Reyes, Marcella Rezende Brandao, Leah Russell, Trey Scudder, Santiago Solorzano Angel, Franklyn Veliz Hernandez, Matteo Villano, Dennis Williams, Mackenzie Wilson and Matthew Zheng; and juniors, Samuel Blackburn, Lee Brumagim, Kira Clinton, Jamie DePalma, John DePalma, Joshua Garnica, Andrew Guevara, Antoinog Haddock, Cristian Kearns, Nathan Kearns, Sebastian Martinez, Emma Metz, Sophia Reyes, Amy Rojas, Willem-Dakota Sarkis, Cameron Schmidt, Emma Schultheis, Louis Stellato and Brayden Talmage.
