As part of a Veterans Day celebration, fourth grade students at Hampton Bays Elementary School took a walking field trip to the community’s veterans memorial at the American Legion Post 924 on Ponquogue Avenue. Students learned more about the memorial and spent time speaking with local veterans.

Registration Open for Pre-K And Kindergarten at Southampton School District

Registration for pre-K and kindergarten at Southampton School district is open. Residents of the school district should call 631-591-4517 to schedule an appointment. Documentation will be required to prove age and residency. Children who will be 4 years old by December 1, 2025 are eligible for prekindergarten; those who are 5 years old by that date are eligible for kindergarten. Students already attending prekindergarten do not need to register for kindergarten. by Staff Writer
