The Eastport-South Manor Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on July 6, swearing in newly elected members. The full board is, from left front, Vice President

Three graduating seniors from Westhampton Beach High School were presented with scholarships recently. From left, the Knights of Columbus / Father Joseph Slomski Council #7423 Scholarships went to Rose Bernadette Hayes and Shane Buhl; and the Immaculate Conception Church Scholarship was awarded to  Jessicka Alvarado Morales. They earned the scholarships for  academic excellence, participation in school athletics and activities, combined with a special focus on service to the community.  COURTESY GEORGE MOTZ

The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame is accepting applications for its 2024 Student Scholarship program. The deadline for applications is Friday, May 10. LIMEHOF will award $500 scholarships to eligible graduating students from Nassau, Suffolk, Brooklyn, Queens, or Kings (Brooklyn) counties who have shown an interest in pursuing a career in music. The Karish Education Fund of the Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons is now accepting scholarship grant applications from qualified current and future students of horticulture and related fields, such as agriculture, botany, landscape architecture, garden design, and environmental science.
