Members of the Southampton Elementary School Garden Club have been learning about growing herbs and several varieties of lettuce. The students kicked off the growing season by planting the seeds in their school’s indoor tower. Once the plants were large enough, they carefully transferred them into their school’s outdoor garden. Westhampton Beach Elementary School students recently participated in a meet and greet with their school’s new school resource officers, Mark Yakabowski of the Westhampton Beach Village Police and Tony Vecchio of the Southampton Police Department. During the event, the officers visited each classroom, introduced themselves, and answered myriad questions from students about their jobs, favorite foods, favorite colors and more. Westhampton Beach Elementary School students showcased their artistic abilities at their school’s annual art show on June 7. During the event, parents and family members  perused the school’s hallways, which were adorned by the colorful artwork of the talented students in kindergarten through grade 5.

Registration Open for Pre-K And Kindergarten at Southampton School District

Registration for pre-K and kindergarten at Southampton School district is open. Residents of the school district should call 631-591-4517 to schedule an appointment. Documentation will be required to prove age and residency. Children who will be 4 years old by December 1, 2025 are eligible for prekindergarten; those who are 5 years old by that date are eligible for kindergarten.
