Hampton Bays Elementary School’s community service club, K-Kids, recently donated $250 to the Hampton Bays High School Key Club for a student college scholarship. To raise the funds, the students sold rubber ducks during their lunch periods. The fundraiser is just one of several that the K-Kids have participated in this year. Westhampton Beach Elementary School is celebrating Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month during the month of May with a variety of activities. Students are sharing biographies of famous Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders over the school’s public address system and on display boards in the school’s hallways. They have also been reading books and watching videos on the importance of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month and different cultures and traditions. Southampton Town Deputy Supervisor Frank Zappone provided a proclamation to East Quogue Elementary School fourth grade teacher Linda O'Brien, special education
teacher Jen Owens, and Board of Education trustee Brianna Gladding for their heroic efforts
in recently saving a student from choking using the Heimlich maneuver. In addition, the
East Quogue Fire Department and the American Heart Association provided certificates for their efforts, along with student Cooper Gladding, who was instrumental in assisting his teachers.  From left,  East Quogue Superintendent of Schools/Principal Michael
