The Westhampton Beach High School girls varsity soccer team recently wrapped up a successful Kicks for Cancer fundraiser and awareness campaign. Through teamwork, the players raised $2,000 for the cause by collecting donations and wearing pink during a recent game to help spread awareness. Hampton Bays Elementary School students recently learned about bicycle and car safety as part of a Teddy Bear Clinic sponsored by Stony Brook Children’s Hospital Trauma Center. They also had the opportunity to diagnose their teddy bears with an injury and treat them with bandages. Southampton Intermediate School students came together in a sea of orange on October 22 to celebrate Unity Day, a national event that promotes kindness, acceptance and
inclusion. Dressed in bright orange — the official color of Unity Day — students and staff
participated in a variety of kindness activities designed to foster a positive school culture
and reinforce the importance of standing together against bullying. The district’s
participation in Unity Day is part of its ongoing commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive
