Barbara Jean Pack Busse of Lugoff, South Carolina, died April 15 at the Brian Center Nursing Home in Columbia, South Carolina. She was 71.
Born in Washington, D.C., on May 27, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Sherman Montague Pack and the late Emma Naomi Marsh. She was a member of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Midland, Virginia, and had resided in Eastport and Hampton Bays; and Bealeton, Virginia before settling in Lugoff, to live with her son, Craig Coker and his family.
Ms. Busse liked to cook and try new recipes. She enjoyed gardening as well. In later years she loved watching her favorite cooking shows on Food Network and the Cooking Channel. Survivors said, most of all she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, Craig Coker and wife Melissa Corwith Coker, formerly of Water Mill, of Lugoff; four grandchildren, Ryan, Nate, Emma and Caroline; two sisters, Judith Heflin and husband Richard, and Janice Myers and husband Lawrence, all of Virginia; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Wesley Morton; and her husbands, Kurt L. Busse and Paul G. Coker.
A graveside memorial service will be held September 16 at 4 p.m. at the Midland Cemetery in Midland with the Reverend Peyton Embrey officiating.
