Such great news to see that possible sewage treatment solutions in Southampton Village are front and center [“Hopes Rise For Sewers,” Eastern Edition, The Southampton Press, August 19]. Just last week, my husband and I were in Westhampton Beach Village and couldn’t believe how great it looks with the buried utility lines, beautiful plantings along the new sidewalks, and adequate, even somewhat unobtrusive, parking. It has a beachy vibe but with lots of interesting and unusual options for shopping and dining. Just looks great! I’m not sure but it seemed like there were apartments above some of the stores, just like the old days here.
As so many have said, Southampton badly needs to be revitalized, and if finally dealing with sewage treatment will get that going, let’s do it, stat!
