Sharon Wood
Sharon Wood of Southampton died on March 2, surrounded by her four children, after a battle with cancer. She was 64.
A lifelong resident of eastern Long Island, she loved living in Southampton. During her lifetime, she was a nursing assistant, homemaker and personal assistant. She loved gardening and was particularly fond of roses. She also loved to read, chatting on the phone and anything pink. Survivors said she was also exceptionally beautiful as a young woman. During the latter part of her life, she became a more devoted Catholic.
Ms. Wood is survived by her mother, Helen Polak; three daughters Tanya Hausner Ormond, Melody Wood and Charlotte Wood; a son, Nicholas Wood; a nephew, Christopher James; a niece, Jennifer James; and grandchildren, Katie, Jack and Robbie. She is also survived by a son-in-law, Benjamin Ormand; and stepchildren Sean Wood, Ian Wood and Jenny Wood.
A private Catholic memorial service will be held before scattering her cremated remains in her two favorite places.
