I am writing as a former student of Kimberly Allan as she seeks reelection as trustee in Southampton Village.
I attended Long Island University in Brooklyn from 2012 to 2016; I was a finance major and accounting minor. I was also a member of the Division 1 baseball team during my four years at LIU Brooklyn.
Throughout my four years, I had your typical mix of professors, but Kimberly stood out from the rest. Kimberly not only cared about the class she was teaching, but she also deeply cared about how her students were going to transition into the real world after college.
Kimberly would make herself available at any point in time outside of class hours to assist in resume building, networking, and weighing pros and cons of job offers. Kimberly Allan was by far the most knowledgeable professor I had in my four years.
Dedication, passionate and caring are the three adjectives that to this day still come to mind when I think of Kimberly, and I am grateful to have had her by my side in my transition from college into the real world.
