Sheila Thorp of Westhampton Dies March 15

Sheila Thorp

Sheila Thorp (nee Ferguson) of Westhampton, formerly of Rockville Centre, died on Friday, March 15. She was 83.

She is survived by eight children, William and wife Sandy, John and wife Patricia, 
Michael and wife Sharon, Jane Matthews and husband Steve, Mary, Edward and wife Maura, Jeanne Raichle and husband Paul, and David and wife Ellen; and 13 grandchildren, Steven, Jessica, Laura, Kelly, Melissa, Kevin, Matthew, Julia, Brendan, Gillian, Aidan, Esther and Edward Jr. She is also survived by a sister, Jane Murphy, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, William.

The family received friends at the Follett and Werner Funeral Home in Westhampton Beach on Monday, March 18. A funeral Mass was held at the Church of the Immaculate 
Conception on Quiogue on Tuesday, March 19. Interment took place at Holy Rood Cemetery in Westbury.

Memorial donations may be made to the Westhampton War Memorial Ambulance, 3 Hazelwood Avenue, Westhampton Beach, NY 11978.

Southampton DWI Arrests for the Week of December 12

William Campos Lopez, 26, of Speonk was arrested on December 8, at 3:40 a.m., by Quogue Village Police charged him with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor. He was pulled over after being observed speeding and failing to maintain his lane on Montauk Highway, police said.
