Shirley Ardell Ross Ruppel Of Sag Harbor Dies July 29

Shirley Ardell Ross Ruppel of Sag Harbor died July 29 at Southampton Hospital. She was 89.

Born October 11, 1925, she was a lifelong resident of Sag Harbor, graduating from Pierson High School. She devoted her life to making a home for her family and was a member of the Sag Harbor Methodist Church.

Ms. Ruppel was predeceased by her husband, Winslow Ruppel, in 2001; and her parents, William and Edna. She is survived by her children, Mary Lou Ruppel of Sag Harbor, Winslow Edward Ruppel Jr. of Iowa, Shirley Ann Roberston of Washington, Barbara Jean Owens of Washington and Marjorie Alice Burns of Sag Harbor; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral took place at the Sag Harbor Methodist Church on August 1, followed by burial at Oakland Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in Sag Harbor.
