Shirley E. Thompson
Shirley E. Thompson, neé Conklin, died at the Waterview Nursing Center in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, on December 27. She was 96 years old and had lived at the nursing center for many years.
A devoted homemaker, Mrs. Thompson, who was predeceased by her husband John Thompson in 1986, was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her daughters, Lynne J. VandeMark of Southampton and Diane J. Hashkowitz and her husband Jack of Pennsylvania; and her grandchildren, Laura VandeMark Lynch and John VandeMark, Jill Hashkowitz and Kevin Hashkowitz; and four great-grandchildren, Ciara and Ethan Lynch and Benjamin and Samuel Jankowski.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter Amy Haskowitz.
The Reverend George Mangan of the United Methodist Church of Hampton Bays conducted a funeral service on Thursday, December 30, at the J. Ronald Scott Funeral Home in Hampton Bays. Interment followed, next to her husband, at Good Ground Cemetery in Hampton Bays.
