A single car rollover accident closed Sunrise Highway, bringing the morning trade parade to a halt on Friday morning.

State Police received a call at 8:10 a.m., alerting them to a vehicle rollover in Westhampton in the westbound lane near exit 64. State troopers reported one injury that required the deployment of a medevac helicopter. The driver, German Medina-Quinones, 28, of Ronkonkoma, fell asleep and lost control of his 2004 Nissan Murano. No tickets were issued following the crash.

Full closure of the highway was completed in under an hour, with one westbound lane closed until approximately 10 a.m.
