South Fork Bakery presents its second annual “East End Bake-Off: Competition With a Cause — Birthday Cupcake Extravaganza,” celebrating South Fork Bakery’s eighth birthday, on Sunday, May 5.
The return of the bake-off once again pits top East End bakers, restaurants, and caterers against one another in a friendly quest to create the most delicious birthday cupcake ever sampled on the East End of Long Island.
“This event is a great opportunity for our community to visit the bakery and learn more about the meaningful employment opportunities SFB provides for folks with disabilities on the East End,” said Stephen Hamilton, South Fork Bakery’s Executive Director. “And, I mean, who doesn’t love cupcakes?”
Last year’s grand prize winner, Loaves and Fishes, will be defending their title in this year’s Competition With a Cause, while Sen Restaurant, Dopo La Spiaggia, Jerri’s Cakery and Confections, and others will be looking to unseat them and take their place in East End Bake-Off history.
Judges Andrea H. Schiavoni and Billy Baldwin return to officiate the competition and will be joined this year by Jason Belkin of Hampton Coffee Company to select the “Competition With a Cause” grand prize winner. Attendees — adults and kids — will vote for their favorite entry in the People’s Choice Award. There will also be live music, face painting, and a photo booth to capture the fun.
The East End Bake-Off will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. at Scoville Hall, 17 Meeting House Lane in Amagansett. Tickets are $75; kids under 12 attend for free. To purchase tickets, visit southforkbakery.org or call 631-725-7166.
