Southampton Town Police arrested two men and charged each with robbery in the second degree, a felony, after an incident in Riverside on Wednesday, June 12. Timothy Haught, 44, and John E. Jones Jr., 40, both of whom police said are homeless, were arrested after police responded to a robbery in progress at about 12:20 p.m. near the intersection of Flanders Road and Vail Avenue. Motorcyclist Killed in Eastport Crash

Southampton Town Police detectives are investigating a crash that killed a man driving a motorcycle in the early hours of Monday, June 10. Police said that Michael E. Lerner, 39, of Westbury was driving a 2022 Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Old Country Road west of Tuttle Avenue in Eastport when he lost control, driving off the roadway and hitting a heavily wooded area.
