Southampton native Marie Humblet Kennedy dies at 90

Southampton native Marie Elizabeth Humblet Murray Kennedy of Waynesboro, Virginia, died November 7 at Augusta Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville, Virginia. She was 90.

Born August 15, 1919, in Southampton, she was the daughter of Charles Whitney and Sophie Marie Schlipp Humblet. A bookkeeper for Sanford Water Company and Bridgehampton National Bank, she enjoyed gardening, her grandchildren, and her dog, Peaches.

She is survived by a daughter, Diane and her husband Joseph Guyer; a stepdaughter, Pamela Kennedy; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Murray; four granddaughters, Nicole and her husband Christian Goers, Stephanie and her husband Kenneth Brabrant, Leslie Murray and April Murray; two grandsons and their wives, Shawn and Tammie Guyer and Roger and Tanya Murray; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three husbands; a son, Roger Murray; and a brother, Albert Humblet.

Our Sag Harbor park tennis courts are under siege. There are eight clay courts and two hard courts.
