Two construction workers were rushed to the hospital, at least one in a Medevac helicopter, on Wednesday morning after a car accident on Further Lane in East Hampton.
The accident, near the intersection with Tyson Lane, took place shortly after 7 a.m., as the two men were arriving for work at a construction site. As the car the two men were riding in was preparing to make a turn into the construction site, it was rear-ended by another vehicle, a larger truck, and propelled into a tree, sustaining heavy damage.
Two ambulances from the East Hampton Volunteer Ambulance Corps were called to the scene. At least one of the men was then taken to East Hampton Airport, where he was transported by helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital.
