Southampton Town Police are searching for the individual who stabbed a 32-year-old Riverhead man early Sunday morning outside his sister’s home on Oak Avenue in Flanders. “Southampton Town Detectives were called to investigate the incident and the information gathered so far is that the victim was visiting his sister in Flanders and upon leaving the residence was attacked by an unknown assailant and stabbed,” according to police. Saturday Morning Car Crash Closes Speonk-Riverhead Road In Northampton

A car accident early Saturday morning has temporarily closed Speonk-Riverhead Road after the driver of a 2000 Mitsubishi Montero crashed into two electrical poles near the intersection of County Road 51 in Northampton, the impact tossing his passenger from the vehicle, according to Southampton Town Police. “Both were transported to area hospitals and the cause and circumstances of the crash is currently under investigation by the Southampton Town Detective Division,” according to police. Southampton Police Capture Fleeing Suspected Burglar After Homeowner Uses Medical Alert To Call Police

With assistance from the Southampton Village Police K9 unit, Town Police tracked and captured a burglar on Wednesday, September 23. Oscar Mayen Orrego, 21, of Riverside, was charged with a felony county of second degree burglary and misdemeanor resisting arrest. At approximately 1:19 p.m., a 911 call reporting a burglary in progress came in through Life Alert. A resident of the Sag Harbor Turnpike had come home and found an intruder in her home, police said. Flanders Road Closed After Van Crashes Into Pole; Driver Flown To Stony Brook Hospital

Flanders Road, southbound at Long Neck Boulevard and Pleasure Drive and northbound at Red Creek Road was closed Friday afternoon, following a single vehicle crash in which a van crashed into a utility pole. The driver had to be extricated from the car and flown by police helicopter to Stony Brook Hospital. The Southampton Town Police 911 center received several calls reporting the accident at 11:43 a.m., police said in a release.
