Fatal Sunrise Collision Under Investigation

New York State Police are investigating a Sunrise Highway crash in Eastport that claimed the life of one victim Monday morning. At approximately 5:39 a.m., Troopers were alerted to a collision between a box truck and a tractor trailer in the eastbound lane near Exit 62 in Eastport. The drivers of both vehicles were injured and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment. The passenger of the box truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
