UPDATE: The victim of the beating on a public roadway in Hampton Bays on Wednesday afternoon and the man charged with felony assault were roommates with a history of interpersonal disputes, police say. The fight apparently grew out of an argument between the two which evolved into a physical altercation on the street near their house on Periwinkle Lane.
