On Saturday, September 17, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Hamptons Marathon will be held in the Village of Southampton. Serious Accident Closes Flanders Road

Flanders Road was closed from Pleasure Drive to Longneck Boulevard in Flanders on Friday, September 9, after a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle. According to Southampton Town Police spokeswoman Lieutenant Susan Ralph, the accident occurred at 1:29 p.m. The pedestrian and a woman driving a Toyota were both headed south on Flanders Road near the war memorial when, she said, the man darted out into the street.
